Studies have show that a mental health can influence your physical health. So it is important to know why having a positive attitude is important as it will affect your health.
There was once a study being done on 900 men and women, age 65 to 86, who filled out a questionnaire on health, self-respect, morale, optimism and relationships. They have realize that those who reported high level of optimism had a 55 percent lower risk of death from all kind of causes and a 23 percent lower risk of cardiovascular death than people who have reported high levels of pessimism. The benefits of being optimistic seemed to offer stronger protection against all-cause death for men than for women.
